Joshua Allen-Sutherland is on the roofing apprenticeship here at Mells Roofing. Josh currently splits his time between our flat roofing projects in Essex and the National Construction College in Birmingham where he’s part of the CITB built up felt roofing apprenticeship. The college is Europe’s largest training organisation for the construction industry.
For the second year running, Josh received recognition at the National Construction College Apprentice awards. He received his award from celebrity presenter Colin Jackson at the awards luncheon held at the college in Birmingham.
Lloyd Jee, who is also on the roofing apprenticeship scheme at Mells Roofing was also chosen out of the whole class to be nominated for the Award. We’re thrilled to have these lads on our team and look forward to continuing this tradition of providing the next generation of flat roofing experts.
In an ever moving and changing market we recognise the need for continuous training. We have achieved the Investors in People Award and we work closely with the Construction Industry Training Board to ensure that our management team and workforce is fully trained in all matters of Health and Safety. We support young trainees coming in to the industry and provide opportunities for others to achieve National Vocational Qualifications. We have a commitment to training which builds a competent workforce, fully registered with the Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS). Our Investors in People Award has helped us build a team dedicated to achieving our aim of providing quality roofing in a safe and professional manner and at a competitive price, delivered and carried out by a well trained team.
